Shop Manager - Metal Fabrication

Individual is responsible for safe and profitable execution of all projects for Metal Fabrication including management of Controls, Project Management and the Shop. Responsible for organization and direction of resources: personnel, equipment, facility… to provide quality products delivered on schedule, whether fabricated in-house or sublet. Position requires close collaboration and communication with Business Development, Estimating, Procurement and Engineering/Drafting groups and the Sr. Project Coordinator. 

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Responsible for overall administration, leadership, direction and performance
of Controls, Project Management groups and Fabrication Shop
•    Responsible for Controls group that provides controls for all Metal Fab projects, including audits and report preparation, budget management, productivity, forecasting, production scheduling, subcontract management, monitoring of inventory, accounts receivable, managing T&M jobs, change orders.   
•    Responsible for Project Management group that manages projects.
•    Communication with customers, coordination of deliveries
•    Responsible for shop safety
•    Responsible for staffing, including hiring, training, disciplinary action…
•    Ensure shop is in compliance with all company policies, procedures, programs as well as OSHA regulations, EPA… and all local, state and federal regulations
•    Responsible for the quality of all fabrication working in conjunction with Quality Assurance personnel
•    Assign projects to foremen based on job requirements
•    Identify leadership potential in workers and develop to meet supervisory needs
•    Work with foremen to make work crew assignments based on production schedules, type of work and available workforce
