SteelDay 2009 was a great success!

There were more than 173 different events taking place around the country, in all 50 states, to celebrate structural steel. There will be more coverage coming in the next issue of Modern Steel Construction, but those of you that want to learn more about SteelDay events can visit these links.

SteelDay Official Website

This interactive website is all about SteelDay 2009 and includes links to pictures, videos, maps of where events were held, and more.

A few additional bits of media coverage about different SteelDay events around the country are listed below.

  • The Savannah Morning News covered the Chatham Steel event in Savannah, Ga.
  • SteelDay at Huntington Steel in Huntington, W. Va. Was covered by The Herald-Dispatch.

A couple of interesting tidbits you may not have seen yet…

Several posts on the new SteelTools website feature aspects of the Chicago SteelDay celebration such as the steel band video clip, stilt walking men of steel video clip, and Chicago’s Structural Steel Heritage walking tour (PDF brochure).

Winning photos from the SteelDay Student Photo Contest can be found on Facebook.
