Planning to be in Miami tomorrow and Thursday? The Center for Accelerated Bridge Construction at Florida International University (FIU) is offering a two-day ABC (Accelerated Bridge Construction) Technical Workshop at its FIU Engineering Center.
Construction engineers and other bridge professionals will gain a better understanding of ABC in the bridge construction community. The workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of ABC and case studies of its use as a practical and economical solution for rehabilitating existing bridges in the U.S. Attendees will also receive 15 hours of continuing education credit.
The Center for Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC Center) at FIU is leading one the most important initiatives in the U.S. regarding ABC processes. They are working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to promote and expand the use of ABC by providing professional education to engineers and support services for ABC projects. Following this week’s technical workshop, the ABC Center Steering Committee will be holding its private annual meeting to discuss the future direction of ABC implementation nationwide.
