It’s been my experience that most people are in awe of what ironworkers do - I know I am - and for good reason. They’re the people who put together all those things we look up at - the buildings and bridges that define the America landscape. They’re up there hard at work when the structure is little more than a line drawing in an architect’s head, the solution to a structural engineer’s challenge to defie gravity, the realization of a fabricator’s material list delivered truckload by truckload.
In appreciation of this cadre of skilled and brave Americans, the New York Times on Tuesday (8/31) published a video look at how ironworkers at the One World Trade Center site are redefining the New York City skyline. Watch “The Sky Cowboys” on the NYT website at http://nyti.ms/pbPw5i. It’s only a three-minute slideshow, and it’s worth your time.
