AISC Steel Design Guide No. 25, Frame-Design Using Web-Tapered Members, is now available as a free download by AISC members at www.aisc.org/dg or can be purchased by others. This latest addition to the AISC design guide series provides guidance on the application of the provisions of the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings to the design of web tapered steel members and steel frames composed of web tapered members. A discussion of fabrication is included, as well as a detailed description of stability design requirements for web-tapered members. This design guide is based on the 2005 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings; however, the recommendations of this document apply equally to the 2010 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, although some section and equation numbers have changed in the 2010 Specification.
